If you have missing teeth, dentures and partials are removable appliance options that can replace those teeth that are missing. Dentures are used to replace a full arch of teeth, and partials will replace one or more missing teeth. Both are made by starting with impressions of your mouth. We will discuss with you shade and shape of the teeth. The impressions are sent to a lab and a partial/denture is fabricated by the lab. When the appliance is ready, you will return to our office for delivery. If extractions are needed, we will extract at that time. Both dentures and partials will take some getting used to, and follow up appointments may be necessary to make adjustments so the appliance will fit better. Like learning a new skill, partials and dentures will require you to learn how to eat and talk with the appliance in place. However, with time, practice, and adjustments (if necessary) you will be adjusted to your new appliance.
